Bring your dancing shows for this one, folks, it’s hardhouse as good as it gets!

Know and love hardhouse, know and love this month’s special guests OD404. The O is for Superfast Oz and the D - Dom Sweeten - Brighton’s finest export and ex-pat respectively.

Superfast Oz is a Twist resident is one of the genre’s finest DJs in his own right.

Dom Sweeten (aka Defective Audio aka Base Graffiti aka ad infinitum) is widely cited as scene’s most talented producer. With his immortal statement ‘I prefer custard creams over bourbons, buddy’ he has also single-handedly transformed the way that we think about biscuits in the hardhouse scene.

As OD404, Oz and Dom have been surely the leading production team in hardhouse since the early days. They have continuously pushed the scene forward through their distinctive sound and style. LIVE they play a mash up of many their own classic tracks that will be instantly recognizable by hardhouse clubbers.

OD404’s music is perhaps the most-caned in the history of HardSouth, since they are a favourite of HardSouth resident Krunchie.

FlashPoint Records is the scene’s top label for fists-in-the-air foot-stomping tough music, and this year it celebrates its 5th birthday.

FlashPoint label boss Marc Johnson also runs the original and now legendary hard house label Tripoli Trax (think Steve Thomas, Pete Wardman, Tony De Vit etc. etc.) as well as Insekt and Requiem, the foremost proper-hardhouse club-nights in London. Marc’s sets are known for their sheer energy and power, and are guaranteed to get your body moving. Production wise he has over 100 tracks and remixes to his name. Some of his current monsters are ‘Be Strong’ (with Nick Sentience), ‘Hyperscum’ (with Defective Audio) and his stomping remix of Defective Audio’s ‘Nails’ . Quality tunes, quality productions….

Dave Curtis is one of the scene’s future stars. As well as running FlashPoint Digital he has made a name for himself in the last 12 months with such anthemic hoover-hits as ‘Weekender’ and his awesome bootleg of Defective Audio’s ‘The Hulk’. Dave’s style is banging but broad-church. But there is one sound we know he likes, judging from the brilliant voice-over to ‘Weekender’:

'Good evening hard house ravers. A lot of people have been making too much noise about how much they hate hard house, and how it’s not like it used to be. Well I’ve got news for you. There’s nothing better than a big old hoover and some 150bpm beats to make your dinner go down properly and to help you forget all that nine-to-five bollocks. So here is to the weekend.'

Making up the bill in the main room are our in-form Residents: DJ Twisted specializes in quality funky hard house. And Krunchie is easily capable of banging it out with the best of the guests (and that’s two Marc/k Johnsons this month for the price of one, BTW!).

Altogether the finest night of music in Brighton to come so far this year IMHO!
